Tennessee Land Trust

The Land Trust, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit
organization, works exclusively with willing landowners to find ways to preserve
forever the scenic and natural values of their land. Our main tool for ensuring this
preservation is called a conservation
easement, and it is an alternative to just selling the land for development.

The Tennessee Preservation Trust

TPT is a statewide nonprofit preservation organization dedicated to preserving our state's diverse historic resources.  This
grassroots organization was established in 2000 by individuals concerned about the threats and loss of historic structures and landscapes across our state.  Motivated by the urgency to protect our cultural
heritage, the Tennessee Preservation Trust seeks to educate citizens about the value of Tennessee's heritage and advocate for preservation-friendly policies at the local, state, and federal level.  We are
committed to strengthening our
organization by building partnerships and developing an effective network of
preservationists across the state.

The Tennessee Preservation Trust holds an annual statewide preservation
conference, issues a "Ten in Tennessee" most endangered list, holds fundraising events, and conducts meetings and tours across the state.  News about preservation issues are made available through the website, an on-line discussion group, and the TPT newsletter, "Network."
